		<description>Newsday.com reports that President Obama &quot;hailed a new agreement by the pharmaceutical industry to lower drug costs for senior citizens as proof that deals can be struck with major health care players to overhaul U.S. health policies this year.&quot; I&#039;m too cynical to believe this is &quot;proof&quot; of anything yet, but I certainly hope this agreement turns out to be as good as it sounds. 

Maybe next, Obama can make it so that my mother, who has rheumatoid arthritis, doesn&#039;t have to go without her medication several months every year as she and her doctor fight with the insurance company to convince them she really needs it.</description>
